Da Nang, Vietnam completely surprised us⦠in the best way possible. Sure, itās known for its beaches and mountains, but what really stole our hearts (and filled our bellies) was the food.
We spent over a month living here, trying everything we could get our hands on ā from local Vietnamese staples to tacos, sandwiches, pizza, and desserts that made us do a double take. Whether youāre a digital nomad, expat, or just visiting for a few days, this guide has the spots you need to hit.
Plus, we filmed a ton of videos eating our way through Da Nang ā be sure to click the bold links to watch those firsthand.
Letās get into it. š

1.ā ā Our Neighborhood Tour ā My An Area
We lived in the My An neighborhood of Da Nang, which quickly became our stomping grounds for all things food. Itās a hotspot for digital nomads, expats, and travelers ā packed with Western options, cafes, plus some legit local gems.
In this video, we take you on a full tour showing the best places to eat in My An, including our go-to coffee spots, sandwich joints, and more ā check out the Da Nang My An Neighborhood Tour to see exactly where we ate almost every single day.
2.ā ā Banh Mi & The Best Sandwiches in Da Nang
We became borderline addicted to Banh Mi while living in Vietnam ā crispy bread, savory fillings, fresh herbs⦠whatās not to love?
Our favorite everyday go-to was Banh Mi Oopla ā the simple egg Banh Mi for just 15,000 VND (less than $1). Itās quick, easy, insanely satisfying⦠we literally ate one almost every single day.
And for a sandwich that goes beyond the classic Banh Mi, you have to try I Love Baguette. Their Philly cheesesteak is next level ā soft baguette, juicy steak, gooey cheese⦠itās probably Quinnās favorite sandwich in all of Vietnam.
3.ā ā Pho Thatāll Ruin You for All Other Pho ā Pho Long Hoi
You cannot visit Vietnam without eating Pho. We had a lot⦠but our favorite? No contest ā Pho Long Hoi.
We reviewed this spot in our Pho Long Hoi video, and trust us, the hype is real. Two locations in Da Nang, both serving up rich, flavorful broth, tender beef, and an incredible house chili sauce. Best part? A giant bowl of pho costs just $1.19.
Itās ridiculously good for the price ā we probably went there more than we should admit.
4.ā ā Bikini Bottom Chicken Sandwich ā Massive & Worth Every Penny
This sandwich blew our minds. For just $3.51, you get a giant, crispy, juicy chicken sandwich that could easily compete with your favorite spot back home.
Bikini Bottom Chicken Sandwich is a total steal, and honestly one of the best chicken sandwiches weāve had anywhere. Comfort food at its finest.
Check out our Bikini Bottom Chicken Sandwich video (only if youāre hungry)!
5.ā ā Tacos With a Twist ā Our Top 3 Taco Spots
If you know us, you know we love tacos. Da Nang surprised us with some of the most creative, delicious, Asian-fusion style tacos weāve had anywhere.
Our absolute favorite? Tacos Ngon ā fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and a fun Vietnamese spin on a classic.
But thatās not the only place worth checking out. We made a whole video breaking down our Top 3 Taco Spots in Da Nang, so you can get your taco fix while youāre here.
6.ā ā Dessert Thatāll Surprise You ā Avocado Ice Cream
Looking for something totally different? This is it.
Avocado Ice Cream is creamy, rich, and totally unexpected. We were skeptical at first too, but after one bite? Game changer. If you like trying unique desserts, this oneās a must.
7.ā ā Korean BBQ Feast for Under $5
If you love Korean BBQ ā sizzling meats, endless sides ā but hate the price tag, youāre going to love Our Korean BBQ spot in Da Nang.
Less than five bucks for a proper feast that could easily be shared between two people. Itās the kind of deal you just donāt find elsewhere, and the food? Fantastic.
8.ā ā Pizza Lovers, Youāre Covered
We went all-in on pizza in Da Nang ā and honestly, they nailed it across the board:
Bello Pizza ā Authentic Neapolitan-style pizza, perfect thin crust, bubbly edges. Felt like we were back in Europe.
Olivia Pizza ā Another great spot for Neapolitan pizza, especially their simple margherita.
Papiās Pizza ā Another solid Neapolitan option, thin crust, good toppings.
Gordonās Pizza ā Classic New York-style slices ā crispy crust, greasy in the best way, takes you right back to the streets of NYC. ⢠Gildaās Deep Dish Pizza ā Jonathonās favorite ā hot, cheesy, crispy crust, the perfect amount of tangy tomato sauce. At just $6.37 for a giant, filling deep dish pizza, itās an absolute steal.
9.ā ā Bonus: Vietnamās Best Noodles
We couldnāt forget the noodles.
We hunted down bowls of stir-fried noodles, soups, and savory noodle dishes all over Da Nang, and shared our favorites in Vietnamās Best Noodles video.
Noodles + Vietnam = always a good time.
Final Thoughts: Eating in Da Nang is Next Level
Da Nang is way more than just beaches and bridges ā itās a total hidden gem for food lovers. Whether youāre here for a few days or planning to stay awhile, these spots will seriously upgrade your food game.
