Da Nang is entirely what you make of it.
The case for it is real: the cost of living is genuinely low, the food is outstanding, the beach is five minutes away, the infrastructure works, and the digital nomad scene is established enough that you won’t feel like you’re figuring it out alone.
The honest version also includes the fact that it can feel a bit transient. The expat community rotates, it’s not a city with a lot of nightlife if that matters to you, and the summers are brutally hot. We made it home for over a year and we’d go back. But we want you to go in knowing both sides.

Yes. Fast internet widely available, coworking spaces across the city, low cost of living, beach access, strong expat community. One of the better-value cities in Southeast Asia for remote workers.
How much does it cost to live in Da Nang?
Two people can live comfortably for around $1,200–$1,500/month including a good apartment, eating out most meals, transport, and activities. Solo travelers can get it under $1,000.
What is the best neighborhood in Da Nang?

Is Da Nang safe?
Yes, it’s one of the safer cities in Southeast Asia. Petty crime exists as it does anywhere but violent crime affecting tourists is rare. Easy to settle into, including for solo travelers.
