Shopping in Da Nang, Vietnam: Malls, Markets & Must-Have Finds đź›’

•

One of the most surprising things about living in Da Nang, Vietnam is just how easy it is to get everything you need—and everything you want. Whether you’re a digital nomad setting up for a month, a traveler hunting for souvenirs, or just someone who loves a good deal, Da Nang’s shopping scene has you covered.

From multi-level malls with global brands to chaotic, colorful markets where negotiation is an art form, shopping in Da Nang is a full-on experience. Here’s what we discovered—and why we think you’ll love it too.

🛍️ The Mall: Vincom Plaza Da Nang

If you’re craving that classic shopping mall experience with air conditioning and familiar brands, Vincom Plaza Da Nang is your go-to.

This multi-story mall includes stores like H&M, Tommy Hilfiger, and local Vietnamese fashion labels. You’ll find everything from sneakers to skin care—but don’t expect rock-bottom prices here. Western brands can be pricey, though you might score a deal or two on the sales rack if you’re lucky.

Inside the mall, there’s also a fantastic grocery store. It’s perfect for picking up snacks, hot food, fresh produce, or even quirky souvenirs to bring back home. Honestly, even if you’re not planning to buy anything, it’s worth checking out just to see how modern and organized everything is.

🧺 The Market: Han Market

Now for something totally different—Han Market is where the real adventure begins.

This bustling indoor market is the opposite of polished. It’s lively, packed, and full of color. You’ll find clothes (some designer knockoffs included), accessories, souvenirs, local snacks, spices, teas, and more.

Upstairs is mostly clothing—jeans, t-shirts, bags, shoes—while downstairs is where you’ll find food and household goods. Be ready to negotiate. Prices are never fixed, and how good of a deal you get depends entirely on your energy and your strategy.

👉 Our top tips for Han Market success:

1. Stay friendly and light-hearted.
2. Smile and joke around—it goes a long way.
3. Don’t rush. You’ll get better deals if you take your time.
4. Bring cash, water, and a little patience. It can get hot and crowded.

Bonus: When it gets too overwhelming, you can escape to the Han River, just outside the market. There’s a peaceful little walking area just a few meters away where you can recharge before diving back in.

🍔 Fuel Up: Bikini Bottom Burger Joint

After bargaining your way through Han Market, you’ll probably be ready for a bite. One of our favorite places for comfort food is a local spot called Bikini Bottom—they’ve got multiple locations in Da Nang, including one near the market with the exact same menu.

This place serves up one of the best chicken sandwiches we’ve ever had. It’s casual, delicious, and hits the spot after a long day of shopping. Trust us on this one.

📦 Bonus: Online Shopping in Vietnam

If malls and markets aren’t your thing, or you just want the convenience of delivery, don’t worry—Vietnam has excellent apps for online shopping.

• Grab (think Uber + DoorDash) lets you order food, groceries, and even small electronics.

• Shopee is Southeast Asia’s Amazon. You can find just about anything on there, usually with fast shipping and great prices.

This means even if you’re staying short-term, you won’t miss out on the conveniences of home.

đź’ˇ Pro Travel Tip

If you’re planning a shopping day (or really any adventure) in Da Nang, you’ll want reliable data on your phone. We personally use both Airalo eSIMs and Google Fi when we travel.

With Airalo, you can instantly download a Vietnam eSIM and get connected right away—plus, if you use the code JONATH4701, you’ll get $3 off your first package (and we’ll get $3 too).

If you’d rather keep things super simple with unlimited international data everywhere you go, check out Google Fi. Sign up through our link and you’ll get a $60 credit (we do too).

Both options have made our travels around Vietnam way smoother, so we can honestly recommend them.

✨ Final Thoughts: You’ll Find What You Need (And Then Some)

Da Nang’s shopping scene truly surprised us. It’s one of those rare places where modern convenience and authentic, cultural experiences coexist side by side. You can go from sipping boba in a sleek air-conditioned mall to haggling over linen pants in a steamy market—all within the same afternoon.

So whether you’re in the mood to splurge, stock up, or just soak it all in, shopping in Da Nang has something for you. It’s fun, it’s functional, and it’s another reason why this city is so easy to call home.
